We are a great family which comprehends three generations. Begininning from granpa Romolo, farmer and bee-keeper and grandma Asunta, keen on taking care of flowers, plants, trees and kitchen garden as well as on baking delicious cakes and buiscuits.
After come Chiara and Valerio, bank officer and financial consultant, who are looking for a different dimension in developping relatinship with people.
Diego and Francesca, the eldest children, respectively student of Scienze of Communication and Philosophy. Both are following mumm and dad in their hospitality project.
At last but not least are coming the two nice naughty boys: Richard, the “little” of the family and Pece the puppy. They come together since they are always merry and contribute to make our guests feel the very wellcome.
We live in a large house in country side around Mantova, close to the river Po and decided to put a part of it at our guest disposal.
It’s here, in our house where we have our rooths, that we offer hospitality and warmth of a peaceful country house. We love taking care of those who decide to stay at ours’ and transmit our love for the land where we were born.
Guests feel at home at our B & B and are grateful to us for that. They repay us being very discreet.
Mantova (Mantua), at 17 km., city of arts, cradle of Gonzaga. Small and pleasant, it seems to have returned to the ancient splendour of the Renaissance. Rich of monuments and palaces designed by famous architects like Giulio Romano and paint masterpieces signed by Mantegna Besides to the artistic aspect, visitors are often surprised by it’s relaxing athmosphere and good and genuine cuisine that can be apreciated in many small restaurants and coffe shops where typical dishes are served.
Very close flows the river Po and begins the Olio Sud Park, with its WWF oasis “Le Bine”. A little further there is the Parco del Mincio, where boats are available to visit the characteristic environment.
Within a range of 25 kilometers, it’s possible to visit Sabbioneta, small ideal town from the Renaissance; Polirone Abbey in San Benedetto Po, a very important point of reference in the Middle Ages together with Cluny. It became property of Matilde di Canossa.
Noteworthy are also the Pontoon Bridge of Torre d’Oglio and the Castiglioni Court, the residence from the 16th century of Baldassarre Castiglioni, who wrote the first book of etiquette “Il Cortegiano” and the Austrian Fort in Borgoforte.
On the other side of the River Po, there is a belt of small towns and villages which present particular characteristics. You could visit Luzzara were the famous scenario writer Cesare Zavattini was born, with its Naif Museum; Guastalla, city of Duke Ferrante Gonzaga; Gualtieri with its marvellous Piazza Bentivoglio and the Museum dedicated to Antonio Ligabue, one of the best naïf painters from the 20th century belonged to the ambience of the river Po and last but not least Brescello, home of Don Camillo e Peppone, with their Museum. |
